Studying the Socio- Economic Consequences of Village Conversion into City (Case study: Hassanabad Rurban – Eghlid County)

Abstract

In Iran rurbans have been formed by performing the policy the developing big and susceptive villages.The goal of implementation of rurbans, is improving the quality of living in rural areas and solving the problems of rural and urban. The overall, rurban are rural settlements due to the concentration of population in this place, central parts of the city to find criteria or other reasons, but they are still working population are engaged in agricultural activities. In this study, using survey techniques and documented the social and economic consequence of rurban development in the Fars province. Reliability of questionnaire obtained by calculating Cronbach alpha coefficient for economic and social indicators, respectively 0.866 and 0.832. The statistical populations of the study were that all the inhabitants of the Hassanabad rurban, that 200 of the samples was determined by Cochran formula and selected by a simple random sampling. The obtained data were analyzed by one-sample t and Wilcoxon tests. Results showed that the conversion of Hassanabad to urban have been successful in service field to residents, but not been successful in prosperity, create jobs, reduce dependence on the city center, reducing migration, development of partnerships and residents satisfaction.
