Examining and analyzing social context sustainability regarding urban plan implementation (A case study of Bahnamir city)

Abstract

After four decades preparing and implementing the plans, not many important issues have been succeeded practically, nowadays beside some positive points, such as population growth and urban development. Thus, studying and analyzing of implemented plans can show their performance in different aspects, and also in understanding strengths and weaknesses parts of them. Therefore, the research purpose is to analyze urban planning roles on city’s physical texture as well as social sustainability of variables. It will investigate the role of guide plans on Bahnamir physical texture its social sustainability as place of research. The research method is based on field studies and library and 309 questionnaires were distributed among statistical community (Bahnamir city) according to Cochran model. Data were analyzed on SPSS software and Spearman correlation coefficient and chi-square tests. Results which included five main physical variables including passenger conditions, the pattern development and construction, services, meet the needs, land use systems, ultimately residents’ tendency to continue living in town show that implementing the guide plans have made relevant improvement in people’ life and increased their tendency to live in this area. The results of the second part of findings also indicate that the effects of guide plans had different results on social variables (Social capital, quality of life, social equality and interaction) among the different areas of the city. The results also reflect the success rate and quality of the guide plans and finally show the people satisfaction associated with the existing physical, social, and cultural state of the city.
