Abstract

Sociologists define urban culture, the sense of collective and internal belonging to the collection of material and spiritual elements of citizenship life. A "case study of urban culture in Tehran" was conducted using a survey method with a population of 18 years old and a sample size (N = 400) in a cluster sampling method. The results showed that cultural needs The respondents are in different groups and classes. What is considered necessary for a group may not be of much interest in other groups. On the other hand, a low percentage of the need for lower education and income groups, although influenced by the factors and barriers posed by respondents, shows the need for these groups. Therefore, ignoring or neglecting some needs does not need to be eliminated, but the background of turmoil and disorganization gradually leads to the reduction of urban culture, especially its impact on the dispossession of citizens in different dimensions in the long run, and individuals to replace their needs to meet their needs. They choose the other one which is not compatible with cultural values, especially the urban culture of the society, or is not an appropriate response to those needs. Finally, the amount of satisfaction, happiness, vitality and sense of pride of ours and urban culture ‌ Believes in citizenship actions
