Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate and analyze the spatial extent of social stability in 22 neighborhoods of Babolsar. The research method is descriptive-analytical. It uses a questionnaire prepared with 5 dimensions and 34 sub-dimensions. 375 questionnaires were randomly distributed among the statistical population based on Cochran's model. To analyze the indicators of social stability in the target neighborhoods, the mean test was used with the mean value of 3. Finally, to show the status of neighborhoods in terms of social sustainability, Critic and Vickor method were used. Findings indicate that the levels of stability in the indicators of safety and security (3.52), social capital (3.16), sense of place and quality of life (3.26) are undesirable and the only indicator of social participation (2.87) is relatively desirable. Also, the results of neighborhood scores and rankings show that 54.5% of neighborhoods are in a state of poor social stability and completely unstable. In general, the stability of the studied areas is considered unfavorable.
