Developing an Organizational Vision, in the Context of Strategic Planning, Case Study: Saveh Municipality

Abstract

Organizational vision is an image formed in the mind and spirit of a group of people (for example, employees of an organization), and create a shared sense in their heart and souls. This desirable image influences on organization and coordinating all activities of the organization toward a common goal. The purpose of this paper is to developing organizational vision for the city of Saveh in the process of strategic planning. The purpose of municipal vision development is creating an image or a common ideal within the organization to achieve its goals. In other words, the goal of developing an organizational vision, and create a common ideal, is to answer this question which “what (what kind of city) we (the municipality complex) wants to create?”
According to purpose, this research is applied, and the collection of materials and information required, analytic– descriptive. In the process of strategic analysis, External & Internal Factors Evaluation Matrix (EFEM & IFEM) is used. For the development of municipality vision, the Ames proposed method is used, which has two steps, and each step is associated with a workshop seminar. According to research results, in 20 next year, Saveh municipal, will be partnership and research-based. Municipality can provide differentiated services to citizens by creating electronic municipality. Saveh Municipality will strive to build Sister City communication. The other aspects in the vision of municipality are supporting sport activities and festivals in the city, as well as having a central role in the integrated management of Saveh.
